Visit the Anderson Insect Zoo when it comes to a Children’s Museum near you!
Kids love bugs – and Anderson Pest Solutions loves kids. So it’s only natural that Anderson is sending its popular Insect Zoo around the Chicago area and Milwaukee to bring cool bugs to kids.
Anderson’s Tom Dobrinska and Mark Mayer will be bringing their exotic and fascinating collection of insects to the DuPage County Children’s Museum in Naperville, and the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum in Milwaukee, letting kids get a close-up look at some of the planet’s most unusual and interesting creatures.
Mark O’Hara, President of Anderson, is excited about the growing itinerary for the Insect Zoo. “When people think about pest management companies like Anderson, they tend to think about ants and termites – all the bugs you just want to get out of your house. But our knowledge of the insect world goes far beyond simple household pests. The relationship with the local Nature Centers and with both Children’s Museums is a way for us to share some of what we’ve learned. And, as Tom and Mark will be showing the kids, it’s pretty cool stuff.”
Tom Dobrinska, Anderson’s Training Director and staff entomologist, and Mark Mayer, Anderson Service Specialist and Chief Bug Keeper, run the Insect Zoo, bringing some of their unusual insect friends for children to experience up close. “It’s great to be able to show the kids some of these really interesting creatures that they wouldn’t ordinarily see in this part of the country,” said Tom, who added, “Some of the bugs, like the hissing cockroaches or the vinegaroon, may look a little scary at first, but none of them are dangerous.”
